The first day that Stuart and I have been able to ring at Chesworth Farm for a few weeks due to the poor weather turned out to be very productive, probably helped by the drop in temperature!
A total of 103 new birds were caught in just over 4 hours with 4 nets. The highlights being the vast number of finches of which only about half were caught especially Goldfinch (top) and Greenfinch (above) and the relatively small number of tits. Also, a few Redpoll were caught of which were two splendid adult males (below).
